This Week at Femina Physical TherapyCan You Help Women In Need Achieve Better Pelvic Health?I hope this email finds you happy and healthy, and that during the holidays you were able to spend time with loved ones. I wanted to let you know of a organization that is near and dear to my heart. In 2019 I launched The Origin Fund, a 501c(3) organization dedicated to providing NO COST care to low income individuals with pelvic health concerns. This mission spans from BIPOC mothers with childbirth-related injuries, women with chronic pelvic pain, victims of sex trafficking and assisting trans folks with getting rehabilitation services to aid in pre-operative and post-operative care. This past year, we helped 6 women reach their goals of achieving better pelvic health at no cost for services to them, providing 4 to 12 visits per woman. But we need your financial support especially leading into 2024. Our goal is to QUADRUPLE the # of people we can serve in 2024. We are planning activities to connect us with individuals from diverse communities around Los Angeles. Your financial support is far reaching and helps support provision of these rehabilitative services at no cost to those that qualify and the website we use for marketing purposes. Our Board is 100% volunteer and passionate about donated funds going directly to those that need them most - the patients. I urge you to donate here. I also request that you share this email with someone passionate about this care being provided to those that otherwise would not be able to afford it. When you make a tax deductible donation to The Origin Fund, you will help to make a major impact during this giving season. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Sincerely, That's it for now, see you next week! |

Of course babywearing allows caregivers to be physically close to the baby while remaining hands free, but not only this, babywearing has also been shown to have emotional, physical and psychological benefits for both infant and mother. For the infant, maternal carrying of the offspring has been shown to trigger a calming response demonstrated by central, motor and cardiac signals in distressed infants.1 There is also research to support that can improve length and success of breastfeeding, improve infant temperature regulation, and sleep apnea.
