Heather Jeffcoat in Cosmo | Sex Toy Options For Women With Endometriosis

Curious About Sex Toy Options For Women With Endometriosis?

If it feels like Freddy Krueger is attacking your uterus every five seconds, right this way.

Heather Jeffcoat and the Femina PT team are known the world over when it comes to pelvic floor health and sexual wellbeing, and Cosmopolitan Magazine regularly reaches out to Heather for her insights into a variety of related issues.

In Cosmo's latest article about living with endometriosis, Taylor Andrews gets Heather's opinion on the best sex toys for women who are experiencing this condition:

"Women with endometriosis will typically have pain upon deeper thrusting. One option for them to experience penetration with less pain is to use a depth-limiting toy, such as the OhNut," says physical therapist Heather Jeffcoat, who specializes in treating women who experience painful sex. "I also recommend that patients put the OhNut at the base of their favorite vibrator if only pain with depth is an issue."

"Endometriosis is often accompanied by vulvodynia, which means pain in the external genitalia, aka pain with penetration. If a woman experiences this, then I recommend she focus on a clitoral vibrator that hugs over the mons pubis, such as the Touch by We Vibe," says Jeffcoat. "The vibrator has rumbly settings that are very relaxing to muscles, which is important since women with endometriosis tend to have overactive pelvic floor muscles because of the pain they're experiencing in the area."
